Shenice Pillay

 Shenice Pillay is a Candidate Attorney at Witz Inc law firm in Rosebank, Johannesburg, where she practices as a member of the firm’s Civil Litigation Department.

Shenice is a graduate of the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls, and she says this formative experience is what first piqued her interest in law as a profession.

“I was inspired by the vision and generosity that I experienced,” says Shenice. “I realised that I also had a deep desire to give back to the community in the best way I could, and soI chose to study law.”

Shenice graduated from theUniversity of South Africa in Pretoria with a BA (Law) LLB and soon began her articles at another law firm. Now, at Witz Inc, she is working toward completing her articles, and says the experience is unique and surprising. 

“Witz Inc is unlike any other environment I’ve been exposed to,” says Shenice. “There are many firms which pay lip service to the concept of a corporate family culture, but here, it’s a daily reality. I’m struck by just how sincere and authentic everyone is.”
